The Kankakee-Iroquois-Ford Association of Realtors is not-for-profit trade association with REALTORĀ® and Affiliate members doing business in the Kankakee, Iroquois and Ford Counties. The organization exists to promote education, professionalism, and ethical conduct of its REALTORĀ® members, while continuing to be an advocate for the protection of real property rights.
Celebrating their 100th year in 2021, KIFAR was originally chartered as the Kankakee County Real Estate Board on April 27, 1921. In August 1991 the Association's name was officially changed to the Kankakee-Iroquois-Ford Association of Realtors, Inc.
The organization relocated their offices to the Executive Center in Downtown Kankakee. The Executive Center - located at 200 East Court Street - houses multiple local organizations; such as, the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, Deck & Baron Attorneys At Law, the Economic and Community Development Agency, United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois County, and the Kankakee Public Library.
According to members of the KIFAR board, the organization relocated to better fit their current needs. With the rise in technology and the growth of their members, the organization sees less foot traffic through their office. There was a concensus to stay within Kankakee, and by being in the Executive Center members are better able to collaborate with local organizations - i.e. the Kankakee Development Corporation, Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, and other tenants.
