Studio 388 is a natural light photography studio in downtown Kankakee owned by Kyle and Kara Evans. Since buying a house and planting our roots here in 2019, Kyle and I have called Kankakee home. When we're not at the studio, you'll likely find us documenting wedding days and photographing families at our other business, Kara Evans Photographer.
We've been business owners for the past 12+ years and have a heart for building community. We believe in community over competition, engaging with and cheering on other small businesses, and creating spaces and opportunities to collaborate with each other. In October 2021, we opened Studio 388 in downtown Kankakee.
Over the years, we've dreamed of creating a dedicated natural light photography studio that can be shared with other small businesses... Studio 388 is all of that and more! It's a reality that not everyone wants to own and operate a brick-and-mortar studio, carry the weight of overhead expenses, and that many do not need access to a studio space on a daily basis in their businesses. That's why Studio 388 is the perfect answer and fit for many local small businesses looking for creative space.
Our studio is located in the heart of Downtown Kankakee at 388 East Court Street. We currently offer hourly rentals and full-day rentals to photographers, videographers, small business owners, and organizations by appointment only. The 500 sq. ft. studio is welcoming and inviting with neutral colors, textures, and furniture to create a minimalist look and a blank slate for others to create and bring their vision to life.
