On July 11, 1853, the first train pulled into Kankakee on the Illinois Central Railroad.
The Kankakee Depot, rebuilt in 1898, has since served as a focal point for the City and today is the premier place for community gatherings and celebrations.
The Depot is no longer available to rent for private events at this time.
